Q:

Would taking a birth control pill an hour late make me a typical user?

I always take my pills on time but I accidently fell asleep & ended up taking my fifth to last active pill 50 minutes late. Will this increase my chance of getting pregnant and take me out of the perfect user category?

Hi Jj_101_Dd,

You should be fine.  But you might need to use another form of protection if you keep forgetting your pill.

Hi Jj_101_Dd,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Birth Control Pills work best when taken everyday at the same time. You should discuss with your doctor on how to take your Birth control pills or maybe on choosing another form of birth control.

Hello Daisy. It was just this one time, I've been taking them for two months and have taken them everyday at 12:45. Would my protection be affected from taking one pill 50 minutes late?
