My girlfrend's age is 25 and she is been having a brest pain on the left side .We visited to a docor and did a USG and the report said "ill-defined hypoechoic area (15*14mm) at left breast upper outer quadrant fibroadenosis with focal inflamatory path". The doctor has prescribed a medicine named CODESOFT and asked to perform a FNAC. But the pain is still there and have no idea whom to consult.Which specialist to consult for the problem. Hi adleo,
What your girlfriend is experiencing is not usually normal in women under age 35, although this is not that uncommon. Nodularity can be painful and very uncomfortable.
In patients less than 35 years of age with focal nodularity, ultrasound examination with or without FNAB or core biopsy may be performed. It appears that the doctor is going through the right steps to make sure the nodules are not cancerous.
If you are not comfortable with what the doctor is telling her, have you considered a second opinion.
Good luck,
Missie
