Here is my final installment of my detox diary (see first post here: https://www.empowher.com/community/share/my-detox-diary), since I am done with my detox. However, it is not the last update on my issue.
I have come out of this experience more knowledgeable and feeling a little better than before, but I know I still have more to do. My thyroid levels are still basically the same, which apparently is good (they are just supposed to stay the same). However, I expressed to my doctor that I do not believe that my TSH level is in an average range. My latest test has my TSH slightly higher at 3.69, and according to the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists the normal range is between .3 and 3.04. She was aware of this and we had a discussion about it, because of this discussion she decided to put me on a thyroid support supplement. This is patient advocacy in action! I need to take it twice a day. We'll see how that goes. I am also reading "The Thyroid Solution" by Dr. Ridha Ahrem, since one of our great moderators here recommended it. I will write more on that as I get further along with the book.
In addition, I had my progesterone levels checked during the visit, and I will have a follow-up visit soon. I also need to get another ultrasound done to check on the size of my fibroid. This will determine my next steps.
I am glad I did the detox, but I am also glad it is over! It's a lot of work! I am still supposed to do some elements from it (castor oil packs, flax seed, sauna, to name some things), but I think it will be easier for me to handle this regimen than the other one!

Thanks, Diane! The headaches did go away and didn't really return (thank goodness!) I do have a little more energy than I did before I started the detox, but I know I can still feel much better than this.

Joanna, soon after you started your detox, you noted that you had headaches but that you had more energy. Did you get over the headaches? Do you still have more energy?
Thanks so much for keeping us updated; so many women deal with thyroid issues that this is truly helpful. And congratulations on speaking up for yourself and your thyroid level! We'll be very interested to see what happens with your thyroid in general and your fibroid as well.
