I read an article on MSN the other day that I thought was pretty interesting. There is a hormone drug called cabergoline that may help alcoholics stop drinking. A recent study on rats that were addicted to alcohol decreased their drinking behaviors after trying the drug. I wonder if this will be a wonder drug for alcoholics? This is really fascinating. Since alcoholism tends to be symptomatic of a condition like depression, having this medication might just give alcoholics a chance to get sober enough to deal with the root cause of the addiction. I imagine this will give people a lot of hope.

I thought this was a great idea for alcoholics. There are side effects for every drug but if it will save a life, it may be worth it.
