Has anyone ever noticed that women have really been the strong ones in relationships, careers and appear to be the head of households? When did the world shift into this life?
The economy is horrible and the job market is less than adequate. I am a strong woman but I need to share this story since I feel as if I am breaking down. I recently found out that under the new Obama Plan, he is going to restructure to government and get rid of several government agencies that he deems as wasteful. It appears that I will be out of a job soon.
I fell into panic mode, I am a woman that has built an empire and I will soon be one of the hundreds of thousands collecting unemployment. Survival mode kicks in and I am desperately seeking other employment. I own a home, have a great puppy dog and even established a new life and worked very hard to get here. This will all be lost soon.
My next strategy is trying to find out where there is stability in a job and where I can apply to feel that I have some sort of control over the downfall of the economy. I hate not feeling in control of my life.
My thought process says military. Job security. I am 32 years old and spent 8 years in the Army with an end of service date of 09/2002. I have been out of the structured life for 7 years already. Should I go back? I will have medical benefits, a new GI Bill (school money) and a secure position. The downfall: War. My chances are 100% to be sent to Iraq of Afghanistan.
What choices do we have? Who wins with the survival of the fittest? How are you dealing with the failing economy? Loss of jobs and health care benefits?
