This thing, this condition..... it doesn't need to rule your life! I promise :) You can lead a normal life and have all that you ever wanted. For many years, I didn't believe it was possible. I thought I just had to deal with it, along with all the side-effects from the pill and the operations every couple of years. Hey, I thought..... that is just Endo! Right? WRONG!
I made a change. I stopped all that and chose a different path. I chose a path where I put my body first. I gave it all that it needed to feel better and took out all the stuff that was making it feel bad. That meant, taking out the sugar, the dairy, the meat and the gluten. This is what worked for my body and what it needed. It didn't want the heavy fats from the meat and dairy and it certainly didn't want the sugar rushes from those chocolate bars I was scoffing down each day to alleviate the pain!
Here's the thing. We are told so much stuff about Endometriosis, aren't we? We are first told that it is all in our head, that the pain couldn't be anything serious. It isn't visible to others or even on an Ultrasound, so there's nothing wrong.... sure :(
Then we are told, that it can't be cured and that our only options are hormonal treatments and operations. SURE :(
How depressing this stuff all is! I am really not surprised when I hear stories of women with Endometriosis just spending their days in bed with pain-killers. We are not given hope or opportunity to heal our bodies with these suggestions.
Well, I have some good news for you. I can give you hope and I can give you REAL answers. Endometriosis is an imbalance in our bodies and we need to correct that imbalance. No amount of hormonal treatments is going to do that. It comes down to figuring out what minerals and vitamins are bodies are lacking and supplying the body with heaps and heaps of these. Guess what? They don't come in the form of a tablet or a supplement or a drug. They come in the form of really good quality foods. Rich, nutrient dense foods with super powers built into them.
See, the body knows what to do. It knows how to heal. We simply need to provide it with the tools to do that.
It takes time. We have been putting in so many of the wrong foods, pain-killers and synthetic hormones for so long, the body has to flush all that stuff out first. But, it will get there. It will heal and it will regain balance. It wants to. It wants to be super healthy.
Please stop believing that this is permanent. That this is all you have to choose from and that the status quo needs to remain as such.
You can change and you can improve your health. It all starts with taking just one step. I created a blog about my journey with Endometriosis and using natural methods to heal. You can find a heap of free information on what I did and how you can be pain free too! Visit me on www.endoangel.com. There is also a private facebook support group and a Newbie Section on the site.
I want to send you my biggest hug because as an Endo Sister we are all in this ride together.

I agree, there is no cure. Lifestyle changes can drastically improve the symptoms. But any lapse or added stress, and the gremlins return. So yes, there is no cure, but these changes are more welcome than the surgeries and prostate cancer drugs we are given by specialists. Thanks to fellow sisters like Melissa aka Endo Angel, many women are realising that they can take control back!!!

Back in early 2012, after a terrible stress and sickness filled 2011 followed by a few severely painful periods that had me howling at night, I was very lucky to have my gynecologist agree with me that it was endometriosis behind it all. (At this point of typing, it's apt to add that the word 'endometriosis' has a wiggly red line under it as it's unrecognised by the dictionary on my computer!) Anyway!....
I'd never heard of this condition, and didn't know anyone else with it. So I dived head first into google. I found all sorts of horrible info that, as Melissa mentions, gives absolutely no hope. According to the medical world - endo's symptoms can be alleviated by the contraceptive pill, pain killers and hormonal treatments only. Then, when things get really bad, you can just have it cut out - but it'll come back because it is INCURABLE. And, if you're really sick of it - why not have a hysterectomy? :(
Well, for me, I already knew my body was super sensitive to things like the contraceptive pill, so I chose not to go there. What next??!
That's when I discovered a rather expensive e-book called 'The Violet Protocol', and can I just say to everyone - DON'T GO THERE! It is a scam. There are some relevant bits in there, but this book and many others like it for other trouble conditions that allopathic medicine can't treat is making some anonymous fraudster way too much dirty cash.
And THEN, I found Melissa's blog www.cureendometriosis.com and suddenly there was HOPE. I decided then and there that I was not willing to let sickness and pain dictate my life, and so I took the reigns. I ditched everything I could in my life that made/kept me sick - according to what I was reading on Mel's blog and backed up elsewhere on the net. It was goodbye to all those things I used to love and regularly enjoy: gluten, sugar (~my beloved cakes), processed foods, dairy (my beloved cheese), alcohol (nooo, not the beer!), and highly estrogenic soy. I also cleaned up my cleaning and beauty products for my home and body and laundry. I detoxed inside and out, and it wasn't easy. I felt a mixture of emotions. Sometimes I felt lonely in my endeavors - but then I had the support of the Natural Endo Girls fb group, and Melissa. We were in it together although I've never met these girls - and it was (and is) empowering.
To cut a long story short, here I am one year later and feeling and looking better than ever! I'm a UK size 10, which I haven't been since I was a teen! (I'm 30now). I'm half way through studying an online course on naturopathy. I've cut the crap out of my life completely - and am constantly working on dealing with stress better. I LOVE my lifestyle and my diet, and don't miss ANYTHING that I used to abuse my body with. Now that I'm healthy, I can enjoy the odd treats, like some GF alcohol on occasions. But I have the knowledge and experience now to know how best to look after what is MOST important to me: my health.
Oh, and I've enjoyed ZERO pain with my last 2 periods.
There are only 'possibilities' on the natural path. Get on it! x

This is a beautiful article! It is really possible to live a healthy life with Endometriosis. Like Melissa mentioned, the body can heal if given the right ingredients. Thank you for posting positive articles about Endometriosis.
