acid refux
I would like to tell you of my success with eliminating acid relux. I do not know if it will help you or others. In November 2010 I started on a gluten free diet for reasons not related to acid reflux. This diet improved my health significantly and I also noticed within a month that I was no longer having problems with acid reflux. I decided to start reducing my medication for this condition, and have now been off it for one month. I consulted with my Dr. in doing this. At this time I continue to be free of acid reflux and continue to experience improved good health.

Hi MajereDraven,
Have you been diagnosed by a medical professional with acid reflux? Are you on medication for it? In extreme cases where there has been damage caused to your esophagus, your doctor may recommend surgery.
Just in case you may find something you haven't tried yet, ask your doctor about these treatments for GERD (heartburn): GERD Treatments
Good luck, and let us know if you find something to help your symptoms.

Unfortunately for me, Every diet i've ever tried can't seem to cure my acid reflux. Nor does medicine even help. I've lived with heart burn for ever. And I can't find a food group that doesn't give me heartburn :(

Hi anxietygone,
Glad you have found success using a gluten-free diet. I have a friend who recently realized she has celiac, and switched to a gluten-free diet and is also singing the praises of it. How remarkable that your functions are working better just by changing habits.
Keep us posted as you continue your gluten-free journey.
Hi, I had acid reflux and learned that it is caused by eating too many animal proteins. I was told to take Nutrifresh, Evernew,
March 25, 2011 - 4:06pmRefresh and ACT and did that and it was gone within a few weeks. Also read a book called The China Study which explains it in greater detail. [website link removed by EmpowHER moderator]
