TMJ (head, neck and shoulder pain)

By September 8, 2010 - 9:54am

There are so many people walking around with head, neck and shoulder pain, sinus problems, ear ringing or popping, vertigo and don't realize it is related to how their teeth fit together. Does anybody relate to that? There is help and a solution. Love to hear your story.

Not all dentists have the training in this area. My dentist is a Bioesthetic dentist in which he was trained by a dentist, Dr. Lee who was a biologist before he was a dentist. He was researching people with healthy mouths and attractive smiles who rarely, if ever needed the dentist - some well into their 80’s and 90’s. They had very little, if any decay or gum problems, no abnormal tooth wear or “TMJ”, head and neck pain. He discovered that, without exception they all shared common attributes. These attributes have ultimately become the “Bioesthetic Guidelines” that dentists trained in Bioesthetics use in their diagnosis, prevention and treatment. So my dentist can effectively diagnose the cause of TMJ symptoms, and provide immediate, non-invasive treatment. He has helped several of my friends that had no idea their headaches, vertigo, etc. was bite related. It changed their lives!

I definitely relate to that! I have experienced most of those symptoms and have chalked it up to working on a computer all day (bad posture), allergies, and eustachian tube problems. I visit the dentist regularly (twice a year), and typically don't have any problems with my teeth. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
