Spend your leisure time carefully
Over the last couple of months, we've received some disturbing reports from students who have experienced scams on gambling sites. People were losing money, not receiving promised winnings and unable to contact anyone. In some cases, the sites simply disappeared. We are not dramatizing - all of this was really happening.
Let's be clear: we are not going to ban students from gambling. We realize that it is part of modern online culture, especially among young people. Some people gamble for the sake of gambling, some people gamble to distract themselves, some people gamble because they like to calculate risks. That's everyone's choice. But when it comes to real losses - financial and emotional - we cannot stand aside.
Therefore, our request is simple and quite reasonable: play only on trusted platforms. Do not believe in “300% no deposit bonus” from a site with an unclear address. If you decide to play - choose a resource where there is an application, clear instructions, transparent rules and, preferably, legal registration. For example, the same https://app1win.com/ - this is not a recommendation, it is an example. On such sites at least it is clear what you are dealing with.
And to understand the risks and better understand the topic, read something fundamental. For example, rsf.org - not about gambling, but very sensibly explains how transparency and accountability work in the online space. Or khanacademy.org - there's tons of useful stuff there, including finance, statistics and logic. Knowledge, by the way, is also a good way to win. Or at least not to lose recklessly.
No one's going to keep track of who's spending what money. It is not in our competence. But if we can avoid banal mistakes, let's at least try. Gambling is not the problem. The problem is recklessness.
