Sometimes using dilators can promote a protective response if there has been a history of pain. We have the most incredible tool at our disposal - our mind. With mindfulness, we can work within our pain free zone, gradually increasing the size of the dilator. Most importantly, think of allowing the tissue to soften. Use your brain to retrain your pain response - it helps!
