By November 7, 2017 - 1:51am

Stretch marks appear on the skin after the body sections grow at a more rapid pace and the skin fails to keep up with it. These may be due to quick weight gain, pregnancy, bodybuilding, puberty, and use of steroids. These energy booster medicines cause a high level of Cortisol in the body. They are also genetic and can run in the family line. The weakening of skin fibers is the primary cause why stretch mark becomes visible.

They are pink, gray, purple, or a mix of color but the most significant thing is that they do not have the same color as your skin. When you touch where they are with your finger, you might feel the indention on the skin. They can also get away naturally without being treated, but this is not the best option. Given below are some of the strategies that can be adopted to get rid of the stretch marks or reduce their impact.

Creams with tretinoin like Retin-A
They contain retinoid which helps in fading the marks. The only disadvantage is that they can cause your skin to become reddish, irritated, and scaly. To reduce their undesired effects, you should visit a dermatologist to get the best prescription. They help in unclogging the pores, reduce fine lines, promote collagen production as well as reduce the discoloration associated with stretch marks.

Use of collagen boosters
Collagen is one of the major elements which contribute to modifying or improving the elasticity of the skin. There are many sources of collagen which can act as boosters to your body; they may include but not limited to bovine, porcine, or marine collagen. For efficiency, rather than being consumed raw, they can be given in the form of injections.

Laser skin tightening
It is most effective in situations where after the skin stretches, it loses its elasticity and becomes saggy. A skin tightening operation will get rid of those stretch marks. The laser activates the collagen-producing cells and eventually leads to skin tightening.

Blue light therapy
It is the use of particular drugs that are activated by light to treat stretch marks or tightening the skin. When the drug is activated by a photosensitizing agent; the blue light, they cause the production of more collagen cells.
