Reducing Your Risk of Hyperthyroidism
There is no way to prevent hyperthyroidism in cases of ]]>Graves’ Disease]]> and most other causes. Factitious hyperthyroidism can be prevented—avoid taking in too much iodine (iodized salt, salt water fish) or taking too high a dose of thyroid replacement medication. Reducing or quitting smoking will also lower your risk of hyperthyroidism.
