Michelle Obama Says Women "Crushed" By Current Health Care System

First Lady Michelle Obama said Friday that the treatment for women under the current health system is “unacceptable.’ Obama was seeking support for the administration’s proposed health care plan from health care professionals and advocacy groups, Bloomberg news reports.

President Barack Obama has been trying to generate support for his health-care overhaul plan over the past several months with the first lady joining the effort today with a more targeted pitch.

The First Lady went on to say, according to the article, that women are being “crushed by the current structure of our health care” because they are often responsible for caring for their families in times of illness, scheduling check-ups and following up on treatment and care.
