Debbie McGrady
Debbie was diagnosed with a form of RA so aggressive that her doctor warned she would be in a wheelchair in 8 months. Once her condition stabilized, she began a process of life reassessment. First to go, physical limitations she had put on herself. Only after her diagnosis did she start running with a goal. And at age 50 she trained and ran a half marathon in Indianapolis. Next, came the desire to connect. Feeling good, some days pain free, Debbie began to feel fortunate, even lucky. Gratitude welled into a desire to give to others who may not be able to move about, for any number of reasons, as she could. And she began to volunteer in her community.
