Hi, I've been dealing with fibroids for over 4 years and have been battling back and forth on whether I should get a myomectomy or an embolization. Both have risk factors, of course, so I am just terrified and have no idea what to do. It's frustrating because everytime I go to the doctor for checkups, she asks me why I won't get it out!! Thankfully, I don't have heavy bleeding (i'm thinking maybe if i did, it would force me to take care of the problem a long time ago). This thing is just growing so I have to hurry up and do something. I wish I had women close by that I could actually talk face-to-face with about this problem. It just kinda helps when you can mingle with people going through the same thing you are. I'm new to this site and found it one day when I was heavily researching fibroids. I explored the site, read founder Michelle Robson's story and was almost to tears...having a hysterectomy AND your ovaries removed had to be just devastating..wow, and to be in your 30's too..i can't imagine. I signed up to become a member so here I am. I live in New York and while reading some of the women's fibroid stories, I noticed that some of them live here also and actually had myomectomy surgeries. It would be nice to connect with some of them to hear about their experience. I'm just really frustrated about the whole thing...I go to bed thinking about it and wake up thinking about it, however, I know at some point really soon I have to do something about it.
