The National Police Association strives to educate those who support law enforcement about ways to help police departments and other agencies effectively achieve their objectives. The National Police Association supports Project Safe Neighborhoods and other assertive programs that are designed to give police the tools needed to keep communities safer. As police departments are pressured to accomplish more each year while budgets continually shrink, the National Police Association tries to assist by publicizing volunteer opportunities available to the public, where concerned citizens can help their local police force in some manner.
