Invasive lobular breast cancer dx in July 2006, surgery, reconstruction, chemotherapy and now, serious "chemobrain" which is ongoing four years post treatment. Stepping into an advocacy role hoping to change the conversation for the next generation. Early detection is the best we have right now and we need to continue to get screened. Survival and cured are not the same thing and surviving comes at a tremendous price-physically, mentally, emotionally, intellectually. We need to prevent this disease. I'm committed to supporting organizations that push research. Too much time has passed and we may understand how to treat breast cancer but that is simply no longer good enough. We need to find a cure and we need to prevent it in the first place. I dream big. I believe we can make this happen if we make enough noise. We MUST stop the deaths from all cancers but breast cancer became highly personal. My mom is now a Stage IV patient.
