I was diagnosed with BP in 1993 or something close to that. It was later that I learned that I have BPD. I am a cutter, I used to drink A LOT!! I was a teacher for 21 years. I have been in the hospital 5 times. One of them was a State Hospital: my own husband committed me!!!! I am no longer married to him. I am now with a great man. We bought a house together. He has BP. He understands my BP and my BPD. He is a LIFESAVER!! But I have also been a GREAT lifesaver to him!!!!
