Dr. Pohl explains how detoxification varies from rehabilitation.

Dr. Pohl:
Let’s take a look at the disease of addiction as a pie. Detoxification means taking you off the drug; it’s one small wedge in the pie. Let’s say it’s a ten percent wedge. Rehab–rehabilitation, which actually lasts a lifetime, is learning how to live without drugs, learning how to rebuild relationships, re-establishing some sort of spiritual part of your life which is usually neglected during addiction and finding some balance in your life that’s been missing for all these years.
