Lorraine Shares If Women With STDs More Commonly Acquire HIV/AIDS (VIDEO)

Rate This

Lorraine describes if it is common for women with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) to become infected with HIV/AIDS.

Lorraine:
Yes, very common, especially women who have had STDs. They are three times more likely to be exposed to HIV, and they believe it’s because if they are not protecting themselves from an STD, they are not protecting themselves from HIV because HIV, when a person is exposed, may not necessarily have symptoms in the beginning. Some may have flu-like symptoms, but even then, if you have flu-like symptoms, more individuals think they are coming down with the flu and are treating it like the flu and not thinking of HIV.
