Heather recalls her first experience with alcohol and shares the effects of her experimentation.

Heather:
My name is Heather and I’d like to share my story of addiction with alcohol and other things.

I believe I was born with the problem of addiction. I believe that it’s always been there and the first time I took a drink I remember being between 10 and 12 years old and I got so drunk that honestly, I don’t remember most of it.

I remember laying down that night. I don’t remember what I did. I know I was acting a fool because what people had told me and I thought that was okay because I was young. It was the first time I had ever drank and that’s what drunk people did, but that’s not what drunk people do, that’s what alcoholics do and I know that now.
