Homeopathic Remedies May Cure Allergies

Homeopathic remedies for allergies and hay fever don't cause side effects like decongestants and expectorants. Decongestants and expectorants suppress allergy and hay fever symptoms, but they don't go to the source like homeopathic remedies.

Homeopathic remedies also increase the individual's vital force, says Melanie Grimes. Sabadilla is for those allergic to pollen. Their nose is raw and dry, mucus flows freely. They feel cold and sneezes frequently.

Allium Cepa is for those with teary eyes and whose symptoms worsen in dampness. Euphrasia is for sinus and eye discharge. Nux vomica is for the impatient person whose allergies improve outside, who feels cold and sneezes alot.

Pulsatilla is for the person who clings when ill. They prefer cold, and worsen lying in a warm room. Arsenicum Alba is for the anxious person whose symptoms worsen after midnight. They get cold and thirsty, with asthmatic breathing.

"Melanie Grimes is a writer, award-winning screenwriter, medical journal editor, and adjunct faculty member at Bastyr University. She also teaches homeopathy at the Seattle School of Homeopathy and the American Homeopathic Medical College. A trained homeopath, she is the editor of the homeopathic journal, Simillimum, and has edited alternative and integrative medical journals for 15 years."
