Hi I recently had a pregnancy scare after fingering. I started my period this month (I think) which should confirm I am not pregnant. I am currently on my 5th day and still bleeding and have been feeling nausea and light headed? Is this normal?

Also, I need to find ways in becoming more healthier because I am currently underweight. 7 stones (I'm 5'3 or 5'4) .. I did suffer from an eating disorder which I am trying to improve upon
I am going to see my doctor about this but is there anything you recommend in the meantime? Thankyou (:

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you will be seeing your physician and that you reached out to our community as well.

How long does your period normally last? Is the flow heavy?

If you are losing more blood than normally, that could explain feeling lightheaded. Drink plenty of fluids and eat a well balance diet of food rich in iron. Green leafy vegetable, whole grains, fortified cereals, lentils, and chickpeas are a few choices.

You are underweight, indeed. Seven stones is equivalent to 98 pounds.

Is there a reason that you are underweight? I must ask, do you struggle with anorexia?

Speak with your physician about a healthy diet plan. A female between the ages of 19 and 25 , should consume 2,200 calories per day. Choose to eat three meals a day or five smaller meals during the day. Make healthy choices of fruit over chips. Avoid empty calories found in soda and candy.

Keep in touch,
Maryann

Don't know if you got my last message

Yes I do think I suffered from anorexia. Hence the reason why I am going to see a physician next week

Well in the start it was light, then became heavier for 2 days and then lighter and now it's more or less spotting
Could this be implantation or can I just throw pregnancy out the window? (Bare in mind I've never had sexual intercourse and only am scared over the fingering incident)

Hi Anonymous,

I am glad you will be seeing your physician on Monday. Speak honestly and openly. Addressing the potential of suffering with anorexia may help you get on the right track of healthy body image, healthy diet and regular periods.

Regards,
Maryann

My flow was light to begin with and then became a little heavier for two days, then medium and now it's more or less spotting

Do you think this could be implantation bleeding or should I chuck pregnancy out the window? (Baring in mind I've never had intercourse and am only paranoid because of the fingering incident)

Yep, I am going on Monday to see a physician ...

Hi Anonymous,

Without intercourse, there was no risk for pregnancy. You do not need to take a pregnancy test. This could not be implantation bleeding.

Maryann
