Hi aoifebyrne! Good for you to seek advise from others especially since hormones are at its all time high at your age level. We share the same condition - irregular periods - and I have been in your situation before (although at a much later age - please don't get me wrong, I'm still 26 years young :O). With our condition, the mind does indeed play a lot if something like this happens no matter how irregular our period may be. It will surely make us wish we were regular so that we can predict our periods and be more accurate at feeling if something could be wrong (ie. we might be pregnant). Let me also add that you might want to see a physician just to make sure there is nothing else wrong with your body that is causing your irregular periods. In my case, I had polysistic ovaries or an ovary which caused the irregular cycle. I had to take medication for it when my fiance and I decided to start our own family.

With regards to your query, you are best to wait at most a month to get a pregnancy kit since you are irregular. Try not to mind this too much or else you might have psychosomatic symptoms of pregnancy. And since you do not want to get pregnant just yet, I suggest you ALWAYS use a condom as a contraceptive and have your partner finish outside of you just to be more careful - some condoms do break for many reasons. Best of luck to you and keep safe.

hi Anon. Yes you could be pregnant, as there can be sperm in the man's precum, thus even though he pulled out before he actually came sperm can still have entered you.
If I were you I'd take a home pregnancy test just to make sure.
And in the future I'd use a condom or start taking oral contraceptive pills. At least find another method of contraception than the "withdrawal method" if you don't want to get pregnant.

When were you expecting your period? (How "late" are you?) If your period started on July 4th, and today is August 2nd, then this is "day 30" of your cycle. This is still within the normal range of a typical cycle, and since you have irregular periods, this is not unusual.

If you are worried, you can take a home pregnancy test (do you have access to one?).

Great for you, for using protection during intercourse. Condoms are 85-98% effective at preventing unwanted pregnancy when used correctly and consistently every time you have sex. Especially since you combined methods (your partner did not ejaculate inside of you, this is also known as the "withdrawal method" and is another way to help prevent pregnancy when used in combination with a condom or the pill).

If you do not want to take a pregnancy test, you can wait a few more days until your period comes. Since you used the withdrawal method plus a condom, your chances are very slight that you would be pregnant.
