I am 23 now, I had sex with my boy friend in dec 2008,but he did not penetrate into me. later in january wen i took a test hpt on the day of my periods it was positive, I was shocked.I dint expect, since my sister wasn't married we decided to abort and had a abortion pill and then took a ultra sound which said that my uterus was clear.since then we did not meet for 6 months.later in august 2009 wen we met something took over us and we landed up together .but my boyfriend ejaculated a little on my pant.after which i was scared and took a ultra sound one month later and found i wasn't pregnant.the doctor adviced me to have birth control pills.which i dint take. I got my periods on sep 22nd so I was relaxed. but In sep again we were together but just had oral sex and slept close to each other which my boy friend assured will not cause any problem but i was scared again and took a hpt test on oct 18 which was negative on the very day i got my periods which was a bit heavier than normal continued for 5 days now its nov we werent so close this month but still I am scared as i have read of periods every month even wen one is pregnant. I am feeling like the periods i got in oct would have been implantation bleeding.is it possible. this month it is 10 I am feeling very hungry, urinating very frequently,a bit nauseaus but dint through up. does it indicate that i am pregnant.or is it because of my stress.hearing me crying my boy friend has assured not to meet me again until our marriage .he is very sure that i am worrying for nothing. but wen I make up my mind listening to him,the hpt which came positive in jan flashes into my mind and i start thinking that one day wen I land up knowing i am pregnant it will be too late. I am mentally disturbed , depressed. wat i should do, i am in need of counseling very badly.

I'm glad to hear your confirmation---that you did not have penis-to-vagina sex (or any other type of sexual behavior where his semen would be on/near your vagina) after your October 18th period, so your period will most likely begin as expected (don't worry if it's late; you do not have a chance of pregnancy from what you describe).

Some women may bleed a little while they are pregnant (and, this would need to be medically evaluated), but women do not have a regular menstrual period when they have a viable pregnancy...don't worry!

Best of luck, and if you do find yourself "close" to your boyfriend again, please be sure he has a condom to use, so you are not in the situation of worrying again. Be safe, and have fun!

Ninu,

Is this accurate:
- Your last menstrual period was October 18th
- You have not had sex or other sexual encounter after October 18th
- When do you expect your next menstrual period? (Are you regular?)

If so, you can not be pregnant. A menstrual period is not like implantation bleeding (implantation "bleeding" is more like a spot, and goes unnoticed by most women. It is a spot of blood on toilet paper or on your underwear; it is not heavy and does not last for days). A menstrual period means you do not have a viable pregnancy; it is the absence of a menstrual period that may be a sign of pregnancy.

(You said, "now its November we weren't so close this month..."). I am not sure what "so close" means, and you will have to be more descriptive. Did you have sex, or any type of other behaviors where his semen could be on/near/beside your vagina?

I am so sorry that you are scared of being pregnant, and I understand your worry from your experience in January. However, please take control over your body and decide what exactly you want to do. If you want to have sex and are fearful of becoming pregnant, then use birth control (pills or condom). If you want to be close with your boyfriend physically, but not have sex, then please tell him this and do physically intimate things that are not risky behaviors for pregnancy (massaging, holding hands, touching, caressing, kissing; without any exchange of bodily fluids). Just being scared for the sake of being scared from a previous bad experience..but continuing to do the exact things that make you scared...is no way to have a happy, healthy and satisfying relationship with either yourself or your boyfriend! If you continue being scared and depressed, do you have someone you can talk to about seeking counseling?
