Margaret,

There's no way we could tell you for sure. Yes, you absolutely could be pregnant. It's a possibility whenever you have unprotected sex. But it's harder to conceive with such unpredictable periods.

Are you aware of when you ovulate? Do you watch your cervical mucus for when it changes from the cloudy white mucus into the clear, stretchy mucus? That is a sign of impending ovulation and it can help you know when to have sex when you're trying to conceive.

Are you working with any doctors or fertility experts? Do you know how to do basal body temperature charting? It also can help you know when you are ovulating, which is key.

Since you're a week late, it seems, if I were you I would take a home pregnancy test and see what it says. It seems like 37 days is long even for you. However, we are in the holiday season, and the stress of doing so much can really get to our cycles as well. It's not rare to have a period delayed due to stress.

Take that HPT, and our fingers are crossed for you.
