Hello. My husband and I had sex at the end of may. I had a period on June 13th for 5 days. I didn't see a period again until July 31st which was also for 5 days. I just started bleeding yesterday. I feel a few pregnancy symptoms. I had negative home pregnancy tests. Could I still be pregnant since I was 15 days late?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community about your pregnancy concern.

If late May was the last time you and your husband had intercourse and you have had a normal period in June, you are not pregnant.

The change in your menstrual cycle which started in June can be an indication of early perimenopause, depending on your age. During perimenopause, estrogen levels fluctuate. Your menstrual cycles may lengthen or shorten, and you may begin having menstrual cycles in which your ovaries don't release an egg.

Women start perimenopause at different ages. You may notice signs of progression toward menopause, such as menstrual irregularity, sometime in your 40s. But some women notice changes as early as their mid-30s.

Regards,
Maryann
