Astigmatism and monofocal lenses

I have astigmatism and cataracts. Most of my activities involve seeing at long distances-say 1/4-1/2 miles. What should I tell my eye doctor when discussing my monofocal implants?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Tell him what you told us - that you require eyesight that allows for long distances. Monofocal surgery is the most common of these kinds of surgeries and most who get this get them for distance vision - like you will. So your surgeon will be familiar with your needs.
You may need glasses for reading, after this is done - some people do.
Good luck with your surgery!
