Can I get pregnant?

Two weeks ago my boyfriend and I had sex. I’m on birth control pills always taken at the same time never missed a pill. That same day I took an emergency pill. I took it because I was in my first week of the 10th pack of birthcontrol pills starting a new pack. Could be pregnant? I’m supposed to get my period next week. I’ve been cramping. I’ve also been having headaches since the time I took the emergency pill.

Hello, Lynnea. Thank you for posting.

If you are taking your pills regularly, there was no need to take ECP. Your birth control is protecting you. That's what birth control pills do. You will just have to ride out the side effects of the ECP. Contact your doctor for an explanation of your BC for future.

Hi again,

As stated previously, if you are taking your pills faithfully (no misses, etc.) there was no reason to take an emergency pill. The pill is 99 percent effective in preventing pregnancy when taken regularly, as prescribed.

Thank you.

There’s something that I remembered on December 17th, I was on my period that week. I took 2 Benadryl capsules for allergies. December 26 I had sex with my boyfriend. So could Benadryl interfere with my birthcontrol?

Thank you

Hi.

No.
You really need to stop over thinking everything. Please call your doctor to explain how BC works.
