Sasaere24,

Let's see if we can help a little bit.

First of all, it's very doubtful that you could be pregnant by having sex on the last two days of your period. And here's why. Generally, we ovulate about 14 days before our NEXT period. So in a 28-day cycle, for example, that ovulation is happening somewhere between days 12-14. Sperm can live in our bodies for about 3 days, so we add three days on to the beginning of that; and an egg can live for 24-48 hours, so we add a day or two onto the end of that. That means that our most dangerous window for getting pregnant would be somewhere between days 9 and 16 (again, on a 28-day cycle). Your unprotected sex was well before that time.

I would guess that the symptoms you are feeling may have to do with the fact that you took the birth control for a couple of days and it started to work, and then you stopped it, which gave your body missed signals.

Can I ask why you stopped the birth control and then still had unprotected sex? Especially when you are so very concerned about a possible pregnancy? The decision to take birth control pills is yours and yours alone -- not yours and your boyfriend's. You have the ultimate responsibility for protecting your own body from an unwanted pregnancy. Did you feel pressured to not take the pills by your boyfriend? Or do you feel pressured to have unprotected sex with him?

Try not to obsess about the hormonal symptoms you may be feeling. Especially since it may be from the birth control pills. But if you stress too much, you can delay your period from coming. And with it such a worry already, you don't want that to happen.

Thanks for the info, to tell truth I never wanted to take the birth control, i just don't feel comfortable taking it but my dr talked me into, me and my boyfriend are in a long term committed relationship and I know it's not effective like birth control but we do the pull out method which is fine because at this point we would like to have a baby I'd it happened and to answer your question no my boyfriend isn't making me have unprotected sex and I know it's my choice of course and the only thing I meant by that is we wouldn't mind if I were to get pregnant.Oh and all I meant by being obsessed with it is I just wanted to know if it was even possible to be pregnant by all means it would not be a bad thing I just couldn't stop thinking about it and it was to early to tell anywAy, I've never been pregnant before I just felt different and still do I just didn't realize taking only 2 birth control pills would make me feel like this.thanks for the response I guuess now I just wait to see if I miss my period or not

Sasaere24,

OK, got it. Thank you for the update!! It's good to know that you would be fine either way. Although I'm a little surprised that since that is the case, your doctor "talked you into" taking birth control pills (and that you started taking them). Are you and your doctor on the same page here?
