Can PPD cause someone to commit a crime

My daughter in law stole money from her employer. she has not been diagnosed with PPD but also has not seen a medical proffesional about it yet. The children ar 12 years and 15 months. Her husband is working out of town for the last 2 months, and she does not seem the same since the baby was born. She does not have mushin the way of mental support from her immediate family and friends. Just wondering if this could be a factor and whether it has happened to anyone else.
