Hello, Anon!
Thank you for posting.
Are you taking about colitis? If so, I can give you some general information. Any specific questions should be addressed by your doctor who is privy to your health records.
Colitis refers to inflammation of the inner lining of the colon. There are numerous causes of colitis including infection, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis), ischemic colitis, allergic reactions, and microscopic colitis.
Treatment of colitis will depend on the cause and often the focus is on symptom relief, supportive care, maintaining adequate hydration, and pain control. Antibiotics may be prescribed to treat infectious causes of colitis. Some bacterial infections that cause colitis resolve without any antibiotic treatment.
Your doctor will be able to tell you more after the colonoscopy. Keep us updated. We hope you feel better soon.
