Q:

Could I be pregnant?

I began taking note of my menstrual cycle when my boyfriend and I became sexually active because I am not on the pill. I noticed that I followed roughly a 30 day pattern for four months until I got my period 4 days early on the 2nd of May.

It is now the 3rd of June and I'm two days late. During May however, I sat exams and have started my first proper job and I know stress and life changes can contribute to irregular and late periods. I did not appear to show my usual PMS symptoms, only showing them now with slightly larger breasts. To my knowledge I have never missed a period.

My boyfriend and I have been sexually active during May, but used condoms each time. Is there a possibility I could be pregnant?

Dear Anon.

Thank you for your message.

There is always a chance if you are having unprotected sex. And yes, stress can impact the menstrual cycle. If you don't get your period within a week of the expected time, test for pregnancy.
