Joan Rivers' death following what she thought would be a routine procedure is scary. It's also a chance to think about what you would want others to do in circumstances where your life was on the line and you couldn't speak for yourself. What's known as "Advanced Directives" allows you to make your wishes clear. The Caring Connections website can help you do that and I would encourage people to check it out.

Hello Lindsay,
That is a very good question. As I am replying to your question, I am listening to World News Tonight on ABC. The reporter announced that
The New York State Health Department is investigating the circumstances that led to the comedian Joan Rivers’s death.
Yorkville Endoscopy, on East 93rd Street, is an outpatient surgery clinic on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where she entered for a minor procedure involving her vocal cords.
Hopefully, the investigation will provide details and an answer to your question.
Regards,
