Abnormal discharge w/foul odor. my discharge is brown and pink most of the time. Many days its a dark deep almost chocolate brown. i have to change my panty liner bout every 30-45 min because the smell is loud. all this is associated with pain in pelvic and abdomen. my symptoms have been lasting for almost six months. i never been tested for anything and never seen a doctor. i am 17 yrs old. spots blood is also in my urine. i urinate frequently. do i need hospitalization?????? i have had multiple sex partners in my lifetime(men and women). i rarely use protection. during the time time this started happening i had one sex partner who is a man. My symptoms are getting worse everyday.

Hi, Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHer. We're so glad you found us.

Anon, you really must see a doctor. Why have you put it off so long? You may just have an infection that can be treated with antibiotics, but the longer you put it off, the more negative side effects will happen to you. It won't go away by itself. Or you may be dealing with something like ovarian cysts, which may need to be treated surgically and/or with medicine. It's confusing because there are different conditions that can have the symptoms that you are experiencing.

Do you have a doctor you can trust? Or are you not comfortable going to a family doctor? Please know that you can go to a Planned Parenthood health clinic. They will test you for STDs, prescribe medicine and help you figure out what's going on. They are professional and knowledgeable and welcoming.

Here is their home page. You can put in your zip code and find a Planned Parenthood health center near you:

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

The service is low-cost, completely anonymous and confidential. You can go by yourself or with a friend.

Will you do this, Anon? It's really important to take care of yourself. At EmpowHer, we believe in women helping women, especially with information. I'm so glad you wrote to us, but now I want you to take the next step. Will you do that and come back and tell us what you found out?
