Does your body absorb liquid nutrients better?

I juice vegetables a few times a week to boost intake of vitamins and minerals. Does your body absorb vitamins more rapidly when delivered in liquid form? Or does it still take 2 weeks like traditional vitamins (pill form)?

Hi Anon,

Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer! Yes, the body absorbs vitamins in liquid form much more quickly. They are able to bypass the digestion process and be absorbed into the bloodstream in minutes. Not only that, but the body absorbs only 3 to 20 percent of the minerals from vitamins in the pill form. The body absorbs 98 percent of the minerals from vitamins in the liquid form. Juicing can be a really good way to improve your diet. To get the maximum benefit, use vegetables of various colors to make sure you are getting a good mix of vitamins and minerals and use the pulp (which contains fiber) to cook with.

Was this answer helpful? Which juice recipes do you like the best?

Best Wishes,

Shanon
