Dog training device safe for humans?

We are thinking of getting a dog training device that emits a sound when our dog barks. I have seen ones that emit a sound that only dogs can hear, but I am wondering if it safe for humans (both adults and children) to be around.

We live in a neighborhood where the houses are very close to one another, and it is full of barking dogs. We have 2 dogs of our own and have dogs on both sides of us. We purchased two of the devices and have them pointed towards our neighbors homes and it has greatly reduced the barking. I would highly recommend one.

I do not know about any potential dangers though.
