Woke up with pain and burning in feet and hands where needles were placed
Is this a side effect of acupuncture?

Hello Anonymous,

Nerve pain and burning at the site where the acupuncture needles were inserted are not normally experienced following acupuncture.

You may feel slight pressure when a needle goes in. Most people find that acupuncture does not hurt. The area may tingle, feel numb, itch or be a little sore.

I urge you to call your medical physician right away and report your symptoms.
