Great article online in New York Times titled, "Reinventing Date Night for Long-Married Couples".
Basically, research shows that if a couple has to choose from one of the following to do together:
a) Enjoy a romantic dinner together at their favorite restaurant in a nice, relaxing, comfortable atmosphere
-or-
b) Enjoy a corn dog at the nearest amusement park, after attempting the "You'll Wish You Had Stayed Home After Riding This Ride!" upside-down roller coaster
Those that chose "b" (or something like it, ha ha,) ...reported greater marital satisfaction than those that chose "a".
The article is a good read; it talks about reinventing date night and doing something different; novel...and in turn, you will feel refreshed and excited to be with your partner. Happy Valentine's Day!
