My husband and I would like to have a baby but it appears that I have fibroids that my doctor said might be causing us not to get pregnant right away. She suggested a procedure for me to look into called something like embolization or something. I'm not sure if I spelled that right or not. I would like to do anything I can to get healthy and be able to become pregnant. Has anyone here ever had that done and if so, what was it like? Is there a place where I can read more about it?

Wow Alison B you really know your stuff! this is all great information and I like the way the links work above with just the words turning to orange. I read through everything and I hope to attend the web meeting this Saturday. I feel a lot better about my situation now and these links have given my husband and me new hope for starting our family. Thank you very much!

Hi,
I hope you hear from other women who have experience with fibroid embolization, but I wanted to let you know that there is a resource where you can read and learn more about it:

The Fibroid Treatment Center provides free online classes, a FAQ and a complete section on "The Embolization Solution" for fibroids.

The Free Uterine Fibroid Webinar is on Sat. August 29, where you can learn about fibroids and embolization from the comfort of your own home, conveniently on a Saturday Morning. Click here for more information about this event.

Another great resource is the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), with an online brochure Uterine Fibroids that discusses all treatment options, including myomectomy, ablation, embolization and hysterectomy.
