could the irregular intake of the pill be the reason why i'm probably not ovulating. plus my cycles are now very irregular and i used to have a 28 dAYS cycle. its now lasting for like 42 days, 32 days and varies greatly

Hi Anon,

Thank you for reaching out to the EmpowHER community! Congratulations on you and your boyfriend trying for a baby, wishing you the best of luck!

Birth control pills should be taken at the same time every day in order to be most effective. When you take them sporadically and it different times, they are not effective and can make your menstrual cycle very irregular. I'm not sure if that is necessarily the cause of your struggle to become pregnant though. There may also be deeper fertility issues.

I would highly recommend talking with your doctor or a fertility specialist. They will be able to give a thorough diagnosis as to why you are having difficulty becoming pregnant, and would be able to fully help with the situation.

I hope this has helped and best of luck! Please let me know if you have further questions.

Best,
Erin
