This medication can cause an early or late period, and you may have a lighter or heavier flow. This is likely why your period is early. Some women prefer to take a pregnancy test, even so, just to ease their mind. So you can do that if you are concerned. It may take until the next cycle, for your period to regulate, so be aware of this. That's why ECP is only to be used in emergencies.

The best way to avoid pregnancy is to not have unprotected sex. For future, insist on a condom.
