If you and your husband have not had sex when you were first married, I'm curious how long you have been married?
There are many ways you can prevent pregnancy, but please know there is no 100% guaranteed way to "avoid" pregnancy when having sex. There are many, many options you have that are 99% effective at preventing pregnancy, and the option you choose depends on many factors. I will provide some resources that you can review to determine the best form of birth control for you at this time.
The birth control methods that are most effective include hormonal contraceptives, including the combination birth control pill that you mentioned. You must take the pill every night at the same hour for it to be effective. If you do not want to remember to use birth control every night, there are other methods that you only need to remember once per week (vaginal ring), or once every three months (injection called Depo Provera).
Here are some articles to help you get started, and you should also speak with your doctor about birth control options (the two I mentioned above require a prescription from a doctor):
- Choosing the Birth Control that is Right for You
- Which method of birth control is right for you?
In the meantime, if you and your husband have sex and do not want to be pregnant, you can use condoms! They are up to 98% effective at preventing pregnancy when used consistently and correctly-- please be sure to read the instructions and practice with them a few times before having sex!
Please let us know if you have any additional questions, after reading the above information and links.

You can find information on "how to" give oral sex to a man at the scarleteen website (scroll down to "For Men"): http://www.scarleteen.com/article/sexuality/mouthing_off_on_oral_sex.
Another great "how to" website that is educational is Go Ask Alice. You can read the article: Girlfriend gags during oral sex for tips on giving a "blow job", as well as other helpful resources.
Basically, if you are gagging during oral sex, you do not need to have his penis go in so deep, you can just have the tip of his penis inserted into your mouth (you can read more details at the link above). There are many books that provide illustrations on oral sex.
You can also ask him to show you what feels pleasurable, and both work together to find what you BOTH find pleasurable.
A male condom is an excellent choice for birth control, and is up to 99% effective at preventing pregnancy (when used consistently and correctly, according to the instructions).
As I mentioned above, you must take the contraception pill EVERY DAY before and after sex for it to work. Birth control pills must be taken every day in order to be 99% effective at preventing pregnancy.
If you are asking about emergency contraception, you can take the first pill up to 120 hours after sex to help prevent pregnancy, but this is only up to 80% effective (the sooner after sex you take the first pill, the more effective it is).
