Some things doctors recommend, in addition to taking BP medication, are:

-Lose extra pounds and watch your waistline. Blood pressure often increases as weight increases. ...
-Exercise regularly.
-Eat a healthy diet.
-Reduce sodium in your diet.
-Limit the amount of alcohol you drink.
