Hi Erin,
That is something us women hear a lot especially coming from our gynecologist. Calcium is important for bone health throughout our life. But as we age and go through menopause, our chances to develop osteoporosis increases. Not only can we get calcium from supplements, but also from certain foods that are high in calcium. Such as milk, yogurt, cheeses, tofu and ice cream.
I've included a video that talk's about the importance of calcium for us women.
