Q:

How long does it take cycle to regulate after surgery?

I recently had my left ovary & fallopian tube removed due to a 7 1/2" fluid filled cyst. My cycles have always been like clockwork up until May & then went to 35-37 days, then skipped a cycle. In the midst after cyst was discovered, I started drinking lemon water daily to detox & balance hormones, drinking milk thistle & dandelion root teas as well, taking a probiotic formulated for women & bee pollen daily then I had 2 normal 28 day cycles prior to surgery nine days ago. I was thinking of taking a fertility blend that contains vitex but I've read recently if cycles are regular, shouldn't take vitex. Should I wait to see how long it takes my cycle to regulate first?

Hello Annie71,

Welcome again to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to our community before taking any herbal supplement that can impact your menstrual cycle.

Please speak with your surgeon. Ask when you can expect to get your first post operative period. Will it be one month or more? At the same time, and a postop appointment would be a good opportunity, discuss any herbal blends or supplements you have considered using.

Regards,
Maryann
