I have a friend who told me "I think I'm going to have a hysterectomy I'm done with my period!" My mouthed dropped, she made it sound like it was the next best thing since sliced bread. She continued to tell me "everyone is telling me to have a hysterectomy it's not a big deal." I don't understand why some women think that a hysterectomy is a great solution to end their periods when they are done having children. Is this really happening? If so, is there no concern about menopause or other conditions it might cause?
