I have already had two kneews replaced and a hip and also two back surgeries and I want to know how this shoulder replacement compares to any of the other surgeries I've had. The hip was not at all difficult and little pain. The knees were done at the same time and I must say the pain was horrible after the surgery for about four or five weeks. I am 68 years old and live alone although I will stay at my daughters for a few weeks with the help of neighbors and friends while she is at work. Any shoulder surgery info you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

millie,
I am glad you found EmpowHer, and I hope you hear from other women who have had the experience of a shoulder replacement.
In the meantime, you can read/view Dr. Steinmann's article on, What is a Total Shoulder Replacement?.
Please feel free to ask any additional questions after viewing this, and also provide more information if you can. Can you tell us why you are having shoulder replacement surgery (what condition(s) do you have), and what other methods have your already tried to alleviate your symptoms or condition?
