abetes, but they think I have Arthritis - which one, well I have to pay to find out. Is this a common problem? All I want is to be correctly diagnosed and treated for what I have. What a waste of time and resources, treating the wrong disease.

Hello Anonymous,
I can understand your frustration. Unfortunately, to reach a diagnosis, a person undergoes a variety of diagnostic testing. The attending physician reviews the results, eliminates some possible diseases or conditions and pinpoints the diagnosis. Advances in medicine help physicians make a diagnosis. Physicians are humans, not perfect and not all knowing. No one is.
