Hello. Thank you for posting.

Peri-menopause takes place over several years in advance of menopause. It is a time when we may experience common symptoms of menopause. Because peri-menopause often takes place while we still have periods it can lead to confusion. The average age of U.S. women at the time of menopause is 51 years. The most common age range at which women experience menopause is 48-55years. Peri-menopause generally starts for women in their mid-40s. But this can vary and some women may see subtle changes earlier on.  Your period could be late for other reasons that have nothing to do with peri-menopause or pregnancy.  Stress, illness, or a change in body chemistry can all impact the menstrual cycle, among other things.
